Locked Out of Your Car in Las Vegas
Check the simple things for two minutes, then call a licensed mobile locksmith or your roadside plan. If a child or a pet is inside, call 911 first. Car lockouts usually cost $45 to $135 here.
Kids or Pets
Call 911 first. The heat can kill in minutes.
Engine Running
Stay near the car and tell us it is on.
Every Door
Check the rear doors, hatch and trunk release.
No Coat Hangers
Wiring and airbag parts sit inside the door.
If a Child or a Pet Is Inside
Call 911 first and say where you are. The National Weather Service says it is never safe to leave a child, a disabled person or a pet locked in a car, and that kids can die in 10 minutes.
Stay with the car and keep them in sight. When you call us after 911, say that someone is inside, so we can move you to the front of the line.
How a Lockout Goes
- Confirm the car and the owner. We ask for the year, make, model and where it is parked, then ID and a registration or insurance document at the car.
- Pick the entry that fits. Older pull up lock posts and newer electronic locks do not open the same way.
- Open without force. We use vehicle entry tools and protect the seal and the paint.
- Test every lock. We check that the locks, windows and alarm work as before.
- Decide on keys. If the key is lost and not just locked inside, we can cut and program a new one.
